Problem Solving - Removing Polish from a rubber floor
Much of what do for our customers is problem solving, giving recommendations of what product will do the job most efficiently.
A cleaning contractor came to us requesting our advice on how to remove emulsion floor polish from a rubber floor. It is generally not recommended by floor manufacturers that rubber floors are polished as most floor polish strippers can damage these types of floors. The cleaning contractor had been given the job of removing the floor polish from a 8 floor building including staircases with rubber flooring, so their were after a product that they would feel confident in doing the job without causing damage.
At Complex Cleaning we are distributors for many different chemical suppliers, from whom we can call on for advice and expertise. We worked closely with Clover Chemicals, our main chemical supplier, testing various products on rubber floors to ensure the product that we recommended would do the job without damaging the floor. After much testing it was recommended that a product called Ubik 2000 was used neat and with a contact time of 30 minutes.
Before the cleaning contractor came to us with this problem they were using 3M Trouble Shooter to remove the polish, as it was the only product the client had found that would remove the polish without damaging the floor. 3M Troubleshooter was going to prove a very expensive way of stripping this floor, especially when one 600g can of Troubleshooter is £6.99, against Ubik 2000, which is £6.27 per 5litre, a huge saving.
In the end the cleaning contractor was able to use a product that did the job correctly, without damage and with a massive saving on their costs of the job. Ubik 2000 has proved so succesful with this cleaning contractor that they are still using this product currently for various other applications.
